Standard Poodles Waiting at the Rainbow Bridge

A Standard Poodle walking thru the Pearly Gates and The Rainbow Bridge Poem

This page is dedicated to those poodles who are no longer with us and are waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

Amadou Jazz Cat Zuki

Sept 26, 1986 - Oct 31 1987

Zuki was the start of  my passion with poodles. When I purchased her,  I was looking for a new breed that would be suitable for conformation as well as performance trials. I attended the Royal Melbourne Show and was amazed at all the dogs done up ready for the ring. My husband and son were not very keen on a poodle as our new pet, especially if they looked like that! Needless to say the haircut grew on them. Zuki's life was tragically cut short in a road accident, just after she turned 12 months of age.

She had one pass to her CD title and was Puppy of Breed at the Royal Melbourne Show 87

Amadou Alley Cat

Meg

April 28, 1987 - Nov 1997

Meg was a member of the Pal Superdog team. She was bred for me as a replacement for Zuki, but I never bonded with her in the same way, so she became my daughter's dog. Meg  died at the age of 9 1/2 from cancer of the bone in her front leg.

Ch Chatain Crazy Like a Fox CD

Oct 11, 1987 - Oct 1997

After the tragic death of Zuki, I purchased Harry from the Chatain kennels in Melbourne. He had a limited show career due to his involvement with the Pal Superdogs. He had numerous Best in Group awards and also a Runner-Up in Show under Graham (Missen Vic) He was the first poodle that I titled in obedience. He holds a very special place in my heart.

Ch Chatain Licensed to Kill

Quinn

Dec 19, 1989 - Sep 1997

Quinn was my second dog from the Chatain kennels. He had a excellent show career, which was cut short,  due to a broken leg. He went Best in Group at the Melbourne Royal 1992. He had a beautiful temperament and loved everyone.

Amadou Harley Heaven

Sept 26 1986 - Unknown

Harley

Brother of our Zuki

Harley came to us when he was a year old and was shown briefly. He then went on to become a sire in the Guide Dogs breeding programme.

Kerwhite Petra

Abby

Our Rottweiler 1980 - 1989

We Purchased Abby in 1980. I had intended to show her but discovered that she had hip dysplasia at six months of age. We started Obedience Classes together and zipped thru the classes with flying colors. My children grew up under her watchful eye. Abby and I spent long days walking Lauderdale Beach. She was a great companion and friend.
